Looking for something to do today? Agenda’s got you covered:

Chicago demonstrates it doesn’t have to be ocean-adjacent to have a maritime heritage. The annual Chicago Maritime Festival, which takes place at Chicago History Museum, is a celebration of the city’s nautical tendencies that proves a lake will suffice.

WHPK, the U. of C.’s student-run radio station, hosts its annual multimedia festival Pictures and Sounds at the University of Chicago Film Studies Center. Headlined by LA-based noise artist John Wiese, the program features experimental musicians improvising alongside new video work, as well as silent and outsider films.

It seems the 90s have supplanted the 80s as the go-to decade for themed dance parties, as evident in Another 90s Party’s ongoing soirees at the Beauty Bar. B Starr hosts; period attire is highly encouraged.
