Looking for something to do today? Agenda’s got you covered:
At Ground Control, vegan baked goods and other assorted goodies are on sale; proceeds benefit Chicago VeganMania, the largest free vegan festival in the region.
Luca Cimarusti suggests checking out Ex-Cult at the Empty Bottle, performing in support of their self-titled debut LP, which he calls “steeped in the nihilism and minor-key aggression of 80s west-coast hardcore. Atonal, noisy guitar leads and rough, muddy production amplify the record’s bad vibes and nearly push it into inaccessibility, but the creepy factor is part of its appeal.” Ty Segall, who produced the record, headlines. Trin Tran open.
Sing the praises of ciders from around the world at the inaugural Chicago Cider Summit, which takes place at Navy Pier. Admission includes ten drink tickets; the Chicago Brew Bus provides shuttle service to the Blue and Red Lines should you overimbibe.
