Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered.
In the documentary For No Good Reason, Johnny Depp pals around with Ralph Steadman, the political cartoonist best known for his collaborations with Hunter S. Thompson. Like Thompson, Steadman is something of a rapscallion who likes to stir shit up whenever possible; if you think he’s slowed down in his old age, this doc, now screening at the Music Box Theatre, should prove otherwise.
The Hot Karl has long been Chicago’s go-to for R-rated improv. Alas, all good (and dirty) things must come to an end, and tonight is one of your last three chances to catch the show at ComedySportz Theatre. Kate James and Joe Bill join the regular cast to bid a fond farewell.
As Peter Margasak writes in Soundboard, Nate Wooley wears many hats—jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, improviser, sound artist—and they all look good on him. Tonight, he plays a free show at the Madlener House as part of the Graham Foundation’s Lampo performance series.
