Today’s Internet Cat Video Festival at Lakeview’s Metro promises to be an ameowzing time. Hosted by Lil Bub and her owner Mike Bridavsky, the festival provides an offline celebration of the Internet’s best feline masterpieces. All festival proceeds benefit Tree House Humane Society, Chicago Cat Rescue, and Lil Bub’s fund for the ASPCA.
Do you have a Halloween costume yet? The Lyric Opera hosts a costume sale today, with over 3,000 costume pieces priced between $1 and $200 from operas such as Don Giovanni, The Voyage of Edgar Allan Poe, A Masked Ball, The Flying Dutchman, and Die Fledermaus.
Head over to Threadless headquarters between 2 PM and midnight for video games, live music, and Arcade Brewery beer. Called Bit Bash, the event is Chicago’s first indie video game fest, and it features over 30 games, including arcade-style simulators like Max Gentleman, hand-held choose-your-own-adventures like Choosatron, and two-player computer games like Slapfest.
