Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered.
Get some vinyl and CDs from different record labels at Rockin’ Record Bazaar and Beer Blowout at Gingerman Tavern. Bloodshot, HoZac, Underground Communique, Red Scare, and BLVD are just some of the local participants that will be on hand. And there will be beer. Lots of it.
“Everyone’s a VJ” is a spin on the popular postconcert party “Everyone’s A DJ,” in which the master of ceremonies plays his or her favorite YouTube clips. The host for the inaugural event is none other than Reader music listings coordinator Luca Cimarusti.
Ken Loach’s Black Jack—based on a novel by Leon Garfield and set in 1750 Yorkshire—follows a young boy, a hanging survivor, and a girl banished to an insane asylum by her parents as they venture through the countryside. J.R. Jones calls it a “rare children’s film that cleaves not between old and young but between rich and poor.” See it at the Gene Siskel Film Center.
