• Story Week

Looking for something to do today? Agenda’s got you covered:

In the spirit of honoring those who can come up with stories and actually make them good, Columbia College’s Story Week Festival of Writers, themed “Vision and Voice,” features six days of workshops, readings, book signings, and writing showcases. Today’s big event is the kickoff party at Buddy Guy’s Legends with storytelling collective 2nd Story.

The Hideout hosts an interactive reenactment of the First Ward Ball, the so-called “original Lollapalooza,” featuring performances by the Chicago Poetry Bordello, Rob Cruz, Jamie Albert, and Bill Savage. Presented by Pocket Guide to Hell.

Ten “Irish-centric” bars liven up the Rush and Division nexus with Saint Pat’s-catered festivities like the serving of “green kegs and eggs”, live music, and, yes, leprechauns on stilts milling around all day. See rushanddivision.com for a full list of bars participating in Dublin on Division.
