Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered.
Los Angeles record label Stones Throw Records is the subject of a new documentary, Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton: This Is Stones Throw Records. The documentary’s director Jeff Broadway and Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf have taken the film on tour, stopping in Chicago tonight. Empty Bottle hosts the screener and the aftershow, which features performances from Stones Throw artists J-Rocc, Jonwayne, and Peanut Butter Wolf himself.
Toronto-based band Greys shares the ticket with Meat Wave, Geronimo!, and Lasers and Fast and Shit tonight at Township. You may have one band in mind to see, but, as Kevin Warwick puts it, “If you’re smart, you’ll plan on getting to this show early and staying late—the selection of local bands on the bill is top-notch.”
Steppenwolf Theatre gives up-and-coming storefront theater companies a venue in which to showcase their talents with Garage Rep, running through April 20. New Colony’s Rewilding Genius, Prologue’s Saturday Night/Sunday Morning, and Walkabout’s The Wild are all on stage tonight. See one, two, or get a discounted price for all three.
