Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered.

A south-side staple, the African Festival of the Arts celebrates fashion, cuisine, spirituality, and art. The weekend includes performances by R&B songwriter Musiq Soulchild and jazz vocalist Dee Alexander in addition to a Temptations revue, a film tent, quilt-making sessions, and a drum village.

The artists of Remix Chicago take the phrase “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” to heart. The festival focuses on arts and crafts made with recycled materials, featuring workshops for those interested in creating art with repurposed junk. Not recyclable today: food, drink, and tunes from Nude Beach.

Pigs might not fly today, but pork certainly will. Stop by Mahoney’s for the Chicago HogFight, an all-you-can-eat barbecue fest that includes a cooking competition between local chefs, like Joshua Marrelli of Chop Shop and Brian Jupiter of Frontier.
