In honor of Thrill Jockey’s 20th anniversary, Tortoise, the Sea and Cake, and Man Forever perform “weird sets for the hometown weirdos” at Empty Bottle.

“You’re Gonna Die: A Holiday Fantasia,” an end-of-days celebration at Metro, features performances by Baathhaus, Grades, and Shea Coulee. Big Dipper, a pioneer of queer hip-hop,” says Details, and “a smart pop artist,” according to the Reader‘s own Leor Galil, headlines the festivities.

Although she now calls Los Angeles home, famed Chicago expat Cameron Esposito returns to her old stomping grounds at Lincoln Lodge to perform alongside Bobby Minelli, Adam Burke, and Rhea Butcher in a stand-up revue titled “Roasted Chestnuts: A Holiday of Jokes.”
