Choreographer Kyle Abraham often writes his life history into his dances. Case in point: The Radio Show, a program performed by Abraham’s six-dancer ensemble, Abraham.In.Motion., and based on two breakdowns in communication in his life: the closing of his favorite soul radio station and his father’s struggle with Alzheimer’s. See it tonight through Sunday at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
This year’s edition of Small Bar Division’s Sour & Wild Beer Night features a slew of fermented ales and lambics for your drunken enjoyment.
Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks play Lincoln Hall tonight. Peter Margasak says that the indie-rock icon “will never be able to escape the shadow of Pavement, and given that he got on board for the band’s reunion a few years ago, part of the blame falls on him. But he’s still happy to take a dig at nostalgia on his thoroughly enjoyable new album, Wig Out at Jagbags (Matador).” Disappears open.
