Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered:
At Martyrs’, the Tree House Humane Society hosts Kittypalooza, a fund-raising event whose proceeds benefit their ongoing efforts “to educate the public proper and responsible animal care.” My My My performs.
“Most of the songs [by Charles Bradley & the Extraordinaires] sound like lost classics—mashing up Super Fly-era Curtis Mayfield psychedelia, Muscle Shoals grit, and Philadelphia International plushness,” writes Peter Margasak in Soundboard. Charles Bradley & The Extraordinaires perform with Paul & the Tall Trees at Metro.
Fun fact: John Francis Daley, whom you might know as Sam from Freaks and Geeks, also writes things (like Horrible Bosses) and directs, too. The ambitious twentysomething appears at opening night of the CineYouth Festival at Columbia College, which continues through Saturday with short film presentations—91 in total—and wraps up with an awards ceremony. All ages (even over-the-hill 22-year-olds) are welcome.
