Chicago Film Archives gave three filmmakers and three audio artists full access to the archives to play around and produce new video art. See the final products at Hideout tonight, along with a music set spun by the Reader‘s own Peter Margasak.
The Poetry Foundation hosts a free evening of readings from contemporary black poets including Rosellen Brown, Haki Madhubuti, and Ed Roberson, as part of a program titled “Yet I Do Marvel.”
The Story Club storytelling series celebrates its four-year anniversary at Holiday Club with an open mike in addition to readings by Mary Lorenz and Lauren Sivak. The theme is “Vice.”
