Looking for something to do today? Agenda’s got you covered:

At the Logan Theatre, the Chicago Underground Film Festival is back with five days of left-of-center programming (Wed-Sun 2/6-2/10). Tonight’s opening festivities include the Chicago premiere of Untitled, a 16mm collaborative performance from Sandra Gibson, Luis Recorder, and Olivia Block that experiments with the light emitted by projectors through bending and defracting projected frames.

“When Bryan Spinks, guitarist and vocalist for Seattle doom four-piece Samothrace, lets loose with one of his behemoth, bloodcurdling battle cries, it’s as though you can hear it erupting from the fiery pit of his bowels even before it boils over into the microphone,” writes Kevin Warwick. Catch Samothrace at Ultra Lounge tonight.

Check out Reading Under the Influence, a monthly reading series at Sheffield’s, “because everyone needs a literary hangover.” This edition’s theme is “Madness” and will feature readings from Christine Sneed (Little Known Facts), Columbia College fiction writing professor Shawn Shiflett, Silver Tongue’s Wyl Villacres, and Darwyn Jones (2nd Story).
