Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered:

At Playground Theater, witness The TomKat Project, a fictionalization of Tom Cruise’s meme-worthy marriage to Katie Holmes. Reader contributor Dan Jakes calls it “high theater of the absurd.”

“New York guitarist Marnie Stern has already crammed three boisterous avant-pop albums with jubilant energy, huge hooks, and frenetic but hypnotizing rhythms,” writes Leor Galil in Soundboard. “On the new The Chronicles of Marnia she frequently turns off her hammer-on technique; the results are less raw, loud, and overwhelming but no less catchy.” Catch her set at the Empty Bottle.

The theme of this week’s Soup & Bread, the last of the season, is “The Pantry Shelf.” Chefs from Swim Cafe, Mana Food Bar, and Hoosier Mama Pie Co. will bring soup; in honor of the end of this year’s event series, there’ll also be pie.
