Ready for the series finale of Breaking Bad? You will be after Los Geeks Hermanos: A Breaking Bad Quiz, a one-night-only event at Municipal Bar + Dining Co. Prize money will be awarded, so get addicted (to the show) ASAP to earn your keep.

Hailing from Virginia and West Virginia, string band Black Twig Pickers is taking over Hideout tonight. According to Monica Kendrick, their latest album, Rough Carpenters, has it all: “the silvery, reedy, windy ‘n’ watery string tones, the fluent dance rhythms, the plaintive harmonies, the effortless-seeming interplay of instruments.”

Portland-based singer-songwriter Laura Veirs heads east for a performance tonight at Schubas. On her new album, Warp and Weft, Veirs explores conflicting ideas: according to the Reader‘s Peter Margasak, she “balances contentment with apprehension, drinking in natural beauty one moment and recoiling from human cruelty the next.” Karl Blau opens.
