Jamaica’s Sister Carol makes her first appearance at the Old Town School of Folk Music tonight at 8:30 PM in a free show with the Yellow Wall Dub Squad. Sister Carol got her start in the early 80s as an opening act for the legendary Meditations. She’s now recognized internationally as a reggae star, delivering empowering, politicized messages in a dancehall DJ style. Below is the video for “Dread Natty Congo,” a track off her Grammy-nominated 1996 record, Lyrically Potent.
