Pilsen’s Fiesta del Sol had it all this past weekend: great music, great food, and a celebration of the arts, culture, and activism of one of Chicago’s biggest immigrant communities. Though there was a bout of rain at the start of the festival, the crowds still gathered along Cermak for the four-day bash. The main stage booked a variety of music, and the festival’s House of Sol dance-music party—now in its tenth year—featured some of the city’s best DJs. Festivalgoers seemed equally happy to dance all day or to listen from afar atop a carnival ride.
