The Seldoms preview their new dance piece, Monument, inspired by the “accidental monument” of the Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island. (At one point the largest dump in the world, it’s now the proposed site of a park three times the size of that big one in Manhattan.) The performance, at 6 PM at the Newberry Library, will be followed by a moderated discussion about the environmental impact of consumption and waste.
