30-SOMETHING FEMALE SHOPPER
Setting: West Town Dominick’s, early evening
Shopper approaches young, curly-haired cashier, holding a jar of store-brand peanuts and some string cheese that she can’t wait to devour. She listens quietly as cashier chats with bag boy. She places the peanuts on the belt. The cashier grabs the jar of peanuts.
SHOPPER: You don’t have to put those in a bag. I’m going to eat them right away. Super hungry.
CASHIER: (placing blue sticker on the top of the peanut jar) No problem. (smiles and rings up the cheese)
SHOPPER: (examining the sticker on the jar) “Shingles vaccinations available here?!!!!” GROSS!
CASHIER: (laughing awkwardly) What are shingles anyway?
SHOPPER: It’s a form of herpes where you can get scales on your belly, and it doesn’t feel good.
CASHIER: (looking down) Oh.
And . . . scene!
