The U.S. celebrates its birthday on Wednesday, and on Tuesday venerable Berwyn club FitzGerald’s provides a soundtrack to the ongoing party with all stripes of American roots music: bluegrass from Special Consensus, the raw honky-tonk of Lydia Loveless, dusky singer-songwriter fare from Chuck Prophet, and the twangy rock of the Waco Brothers, who are joined by Nashville crooner Paul Burch. Naturally, there’s not too much music happening on Independence Day proper, but former Chicagoans and underground legends Nautical Almanac—who long ago moved to Baltimore—will give the noise of fireworks a run for its money with a show at Enemy. More options for Monday and Tuesday from this week’s Soundboard follow after the jump.
