There are plenty of (warm) things to do this week. Here’s some of what we recommend:

Mon 2/12:
Sarah Sherman (i.e. “Sarah Squirm”), a comic known for performing in character and with absurd costumes, headlines the Empty Bottle’s (1035 N. Western) Free Mondays series. Joining are New York comic Ruby McCollister, “multi-instrumentalist producer” Fire-Toolz, and artist Vail. 8:30 PM, free

Mon 2/12: The nonprofit educational center 826CHI hosts the Who Wants Love? Pop Up Print Show at Ace Hotel (311 N. Morgan). Fifteen Chicago designers and illustrators created posters for sale that were inspired by students’ stories about love, and all proceeds support 826CHI. 5-10 PM, free entry and $20 for posters

Tue 2/13: Named for the popular gay hook-up app, Grindr: The Opera features four men, a mythical siren awakening from slumber, and contemporary pop music. The show takes place at Greenhouse Theater Center (2257 N. Lincoln). 10 PM, $23

The Punch House pays tribute to Selena on Valentine’s Day with a prix-fixe menu and a DJ.

Wed 2/14:
Honor your one true love (no, not your significant other): Selena, the Queen of Tejano music. Enjoy oysters, fondue, dessert, and tableside drink service at Punch House’s (1227 W. 18th) Selena Tribute party, where DJ Alive Girl spins the late singer’s tracks exclusively. 9 PM-2 AM, $55-$110

Wed 2/14: The weekly show Hooking Up With The Second City, which skewers love and relationships, is especially fitting for Valentine’s Day. Just for today there’s a package for two that includes floor seating at Up Comedy Club (champagne and dessert. 8 PM, $26 for general admission, $100 for Valentine’s Day package

Thu 2/15: Neil Hilborn is the most-watched poet on YouTube, with his piece “OCD” racking up more than 13 million views. He’s appearing at Logan Square Auditorium (2539 N. Kedzie) to share selections from his best-selling books. 8 PM, $16
