Street View is a fashion series in which Isa Giallorenzo spotlights some of the coolest styles seen in Chicago.

Who says spring is all color and flowers and frills? Jay, Moji, and Marzieh (left to right) look breezy and absolutely chic in their black-and-white getups. We all know how elegant and glamorous black is, but it can be a tad heavy in warmer temps. White freshens it up without taking away its mystery. Plus, this balanced mix is sure to make an impact and, as Karl Lagerfeld said, “Black and white always looks modern, whatever that word means.” Coco Chanel was also a big fan. In her own words, “Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.” Now who am I to disagree?

Designer Jay Sae Jung Oh (left) was shot during the opening of “CHGO DSGN”, an homage to local designers that’s currently on view at the Cultural Center. I photographed Moji (center) while she was hanging out in Wicker Park, and Marzieh (right) while she was attending After Dark, an event hosted by the Evening Associates of the Art Institute. See their looks in more detail below.

  • Loving Jay’s cropped top and the texture of her mini!

  • Jay’s optical print makes her look stand out.

  • Marzieh’s flowy skirt is super slimming.
