UK clothing brand Ted Baker is the latest label to set its sights on Chicago, where it plans to open in December. Originally a Glasgow shop specializing in men’s dress shirts, the company has grown to over 100 locations worldwide in just over 20 years and now sells women’s clothes as well. And that’s without advertising—Ted Baker relies on the “personality” of the brand and word-of-mouth for publicity.

Styles are on-trend without going too over the top: pieces like a bow-front dress are “cheeky,” as those Brits say, but with their foundations set reassuringly in the classics. Prices are high-end but not stratospheric: dresses run from just under $200 to $375, while men’s shirts start at about $125 and go up to $275.

The shop is set to open at 1009-1011 N. Rush on December 10.
