Everyone’s pretty much finished analyzing the fashion choices at this year’s Oscars, but I just wanted to point out that one of the models wrangling the winners onstage February 22 was wearing a strapless platinum crepe lame gown by Chicago designer Sam Kori George, who I profiled in 2007. George, who quietly outfits the city’s elite from his Gold Coast showroom, beat out six other finalists (including Maria Pinto and SAIC alum Moire Conroy) as part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s Oscars Designer Challenge.
