Maybe it’s the result of reading too many Hollywood insider columns, but whenever I see a poster bearing the label “This Film Is Not Yet Rated,” I automatically think, “Guess the producers are still appealing that NC-17 verdict.” And so it went the other day when I walked past an advert for the upcoming Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure with said label printed across the bottom. It was a little disconcerting, as smiling above the title were three garish, sub-Muppet creations that seemed to have come straight from the Everything Is Terrible! stash of early-90s Christian family cassettes. “It must be a Meet the Feebles sort of thing,” I thought, still under the impression that the filmmakers had locked horns with the MPAA.
