Chicagoan Alexander Stewart—a visual artist and experimental animator who teaches at DePaul University and programs film and video screenings at Roots & Culture gallery—is an all-around swell guy. A few months back he launched a blog called Collector Not Completist as “an appreciation of record-label design.” Stewart has lined up a series of folks to post some of their favorite label designs, one a day, for two weeks at a time. Some contributors don’t offer much info to help you understand their choices, but others are much more deliberate and transparent about the rationale behind their selections.
