Don’t be fooled! There’s plenty of real things to do this weekend. Here’s some of what we recommend: 

Fri 4/1: Mark Bazer hosts a fund-raiser at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia) for his monthly talk show, The Interview Show. The night features food, a screening of episode one of the TV iteration on WTTW (premiering Fri 4/8), and a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the upcoming television series. 6 PM

Fri 4/1-Sat 4/2: Giordano Dance Chicago premieres its spring series at Harris Theater (205 E. Randolph), choreographed by the award-winning Brock Clawson. 7:30 PM

Sat 4/2:
Indulge your fried-dough craving at the River North Donut Fest, a sweet-food festival at Moe’s Cantina (155 W. Kinzie) that features some of Chicago’s best doughnut shops and bakeries, including Glazed and Infused, Roeser’s Bakery, and Smack Dab. Tickets include doughnut tastings and drink tickets for beer, mimosas, Irish coffee, or hot chocolate. Noon

Sat 4/2: Tom Hanks Day, the celebration of America’s most beloved actor, will feature a Tom Hanks movie marathon, T-shirts, and drink specials at Lincoln Hall (2424 N. Lincoln). All donations benefit Lifeline Energy. Noon

Sat 4/2: Baltimore-based Wham City Comedy, known for their bizarre viral videos and performance, bring their multimedia show to the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia). 7 PM

Sun 4/3: The Shamrock Shuffle, the 4.97-mile Chicago tradition, weaves its way through downtown Chicago, beginning and ending in Grant Park (S. Columbus and E. Jackson). 8:30 AM

Sun 4/3: Sessions at the Chicago Pizza Summit at Chop Shop (2033 W. North) will feature 12 of Chicago’s favorite pizza joints and a keynote speech from the king of partying himself, Andrew W.K. Admission includes all-you-can-eat pizza and drink tickets. 2 PM
