A few weeks ago the city announced a few highlights of the upcoming concert season in Millennium Park, but overshadowing that news was what was missing: the invaluable Music Without Borders series was toast. The city just announced the full schedule for the summer, and this time a second great series is missing: the eclectic lunchtime concerts that took place seven days a week Monday through Friday. There are lots of great shows coming up, but the loss of those two series remains a bitter pill—this summer’s lineup is a shadow of previous years’ offerings. After the jump, the full schedule for Downtown Sound, Made in Chicago: World Class Jazz, and the new Loops and Variations, which is pretty much a continuation of Dusk Variations under a new name. Headliners are listed first. The schedule for the Grant Park Music Festival has already been announced.
