Fri 12/8: Donald Trump is given a vaudevillian send-up—in the form of burlesque, slapstick, and plenty of jokes—in The Character Assassination of Donald Trump, a satirical imagining of his impeachment proceedings. 8 PM, $15

Fri 12/8: The ubiquitous Busy Beaver Button Company (3279 W. Armitage) launches its new series of pins—each designed specifically to spread the message about gun violence—at Buttons Over Bullets. The new button series has been curated by Everytown for Gun Safety, a grassroots organization fighting the good fight to curb gun-related deaths. 5-9 PM, free

Western). 7 PM, $12 online, $15 at the door, $10 students and seniors, $40 festival pass

Sat 12/9: Shop local at the Goods for Good Craft Fair, an afternoon event hosted by 826CHI (1276 N. Milwaukee), a program promoting literacy among underserved youth. Vendors include Vichcraft, Tiny Bold Creative, and Reppin Pins. Plus, enjoy all the cider you can drink. Noon-5 PM, free

Sun 12/10: Support breast cancer research while imbibing one (or many) of 25 different cocktails created by women mixologists across the midwest at Speed Rack’s All-Female Bartending Competition, taking place at Thalia Hall (1807 S. Allport). 4 PM, $25

Sun 12/10: Steve Rannazzisi, costar of The League, performs kooky, sometimes crass stand-up at Zanies (1548 N. Wells). 7:30 PM, $30 plus two-item minimum

Sun 12/10: At the iO Theater (1501 N. Kingsbury), Kristin Phillips and Sierra Carter, the duo Shitty Bitches, bring Christmas cheer to their new sketch show A Very Shitty Bitchmas, about pivotal moments in their lives. 8 PM, $14
