The meaning of the Geneva Conventions

Once again, Morning Martini nails a supposedly complex issue in a single sentence. Today it’s Common Article III of the Geneva Conventions.

President Bush on September 15: “What does that mean, ‘outrages upon human dignity’? That’s a statement that is wide open to interpretation.”

Pissed Off Patricia interprets it for him: “Common Article Three forbids the sort of treatment he would not want one of his daughters subjected to in the rare event that one of them should ever enlist and be taken captive by the enemy.”
