• Vektor

Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered:

Hailing from Philadelphia, metal outfit Vektor describes their sound as “sci-fi thrash metal”; Philip Montoro, meanwhile, describes their sound as something that “might zig into a nursery-school interlude of tick-tock rocking-horse melody, or zag into a frenzied accelerando that feels like a spacefaring dirt bike breaking up on reentry.” Whatever it is, it’ll be at the Hideout. Meganaut and Nucleus open.

The Ace Bar in Lincoln Park hosts the Drinking Spelling Bee, which, in case you haven’t already guessed, challenges participants to spell words while inebriated. The winner gets a $50 gift certificate to Ace Bar.

The Rockefeller Chapel features its weekly Bells of Summer concert series, featuring some of the best carillon players in the country.
