Considering Halloween is just a few days away, the city’s movie theaters are currently booming with repertory screenings of horror classics. (Personally, I highly encourage everyone to make it out to Doc Films’ 35mm screening of John Carpenter’s Halloween.) Meanwhile, there have been plenty of horror films released in the last ten years that are perfectly suitable for your Halloween viewing pleasure. They might not be considered classics yet, but they’re well worth your time—in fact, the more time we spend championing them, the more likely they are to become the kind of films that enjoy repertory runs come Halloween. With that in mind, here’s a list of my favorite horror movies of the last decade:
