Last year the Reader published a story about the small Mexican town of La Soledad and how it (legally) supplies the bulk of the labor to pack most of the country’s canned pumpkin in Morton, Illinois, every year. It turns out Chicago window-washing works the same way–according to the Trib, the tiny town of Garcia de la Cadenza and its surrounding communities have developed a pipeline for window-washers.
