• Bobby Broom

Few living musicians carry on the classic sound of jazz guitar better than Bobby Broom, a New York native who first worked with Sonny Rollins as a teenager in 1977 and took up residence in the Chicago area in 1984. He had an ill-advised dalliance with slick fusion in the 80s, but for most of his career he’s been a paragon of postbop fundamentals, applying his warm, clean tone to solos that are equally soulful, melodic, and sleek.
