This year’s Taste of Melrose Park also celebrates the village’s 125th anniversary; food highlights include Siciliano’s Old Fashioned Fried Bologna, Campenelli’s Fried Twinkies, and other edibles, all $2 or under. Rumor has it there’ll be live monkeys as well. Friday 6 PM-midnight, Saturday noon-midnight, and Sunday noon-10 PM; admission is free.
Cook au Vin hosts a “Pirates of the Caribbean” sail complete with costume contest on the Red Witch Friday from 8:30-10:30 PM. It’s $40 for just the ride; $60 gets you Caribbean-themed food, drinks and music as well (though presumably you can still listen to the music even if you don’t shell out the extra 20 bucks).
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation‘s Festiv-Ale: A Celebration in Beer this Thursday from 7 to 10 PM at State Restaurant & Cafe features more than 35 beers from Flossmoor Station, Summit Brewery, Trumer Pils and others. Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 at the door; $65 if you also want to attend the VIP reception from 6 to 7 PM.
