The Green City Market’s Junior Board is running an online auction through October 29, offering items such as a day in the kitchen and dinner at the forthcoming Yusho with chef Matthias Merges, longtime executive chef at Charlie Trotter’s (currently at $350); a day of brewing at Goose Island with brewmaster Jared Rouben (currently at $300); dinner at Old Town Social and a night on the town with chefs including Stephanie Izard, Jared Van Camp (of OTS and the forthcoming Nellcote), and Mike Sheerin (ex-Blackbird and the forthcoming Trenchermen), with the top bid currently at $2,000; and an “unforgettable dinner for four at Schwa,” with a top bid currently at $1,550.

If that’s too rich for your blood, there’s a Koval Distillery tasting meal at the Edgewater Uncommon Ground this Thursday, October 27, with a reception at 6:30 and dinner at 7 PM. It’s $30 for the following three-course meal and pairings:

First course: citrus salad with goat cheese and shaved fennel paired with Koval Rose
Hip-Champagne cocktail

Second course: smoked andouille with braised cabbage and caramelized apples paired with Metropolitan Brewing’s Krankshaft Kolsch

Third course: whiskey-pear tart paired with a Lion’s Pride maple manhattan
