Last week I wrote about a new band organized by drummer Frank Rosaly to play the music of Prince Lasha—specifically his album The Cry! with Sonny Simmons—that was debuting at the Skylark. Tonight another new group sets up in the back of the same Pilsen bar and restaurant to play music from another great 60s jazz album. Reedist and former Chicagoan Aram Shelton—on one of his frequent visits from Oakland—has put together a new quintet to play Bobby Hutcherson‘s Dialogue, an essential Blue Note LP from 1965.
