It’s been a banner year for Chief Keef‘s Glory Boyz Entertainment crew, but they’re not the only group of young up-and-comers working hard in the local rap scene. In particular the guys in the Brkf$t Club, a subgroup of a south suburb collective called 2008ighties, are responsible for some interesting projects to come out of the Chicagoland area this year; tonight the entire Brkf$t Club will headline Reggie’s Rock Club and perform a year’s worth of solo and group cuts.

The crew—that’s Calez, Legit, Fonz-E Mak, UG, Johnny St. Cloud, and recent Stones Throw signee Julian Malone—are responsible for a lot of work this year, and a lot of it is worth your time. I recommend checking out Calez’s Kid With Raps, Malone’s Enemy: The Time & Loves of Malone, and Legit’s Feliz Sabado, a collection of all the tracks he dropped on Saturdays throughout the summer. But one of my favorite things to come from the collective this past year was actually a group effort: it’s the video for a Brkf$t Club track called “The Fellowship.”
