Tonight the French restaurant Bistro Bordeaux opened in the former La Petite Amelia space up in Evanston. The owner, Pascal Berthoumieux, is a native of the region and plans on stocking fine Bordeaux wines in addition to a list of reasonably priced selections. The chef, Frank Mnuk, is a veteran of NoMi and Bouchon, Thomas Keller’s restaurant in Yountville, California.

Chef Kendal Duque, formerly of Sepia, is back, working at Cuna, a restaurant and lounge that opened in Lakeview yesterday, offering specialty cocktails priced at $8 and under and an affordable eclectic menu of small and large plates. The kitchen’s open till midnight.
