While seapunk‘s true home will always be the Internet, the upstart scene-slash-meme has been making an increasing number of incursions into the IRL world. Recently banner carriers Zombelle and Ultrademon played what’s supposed to have been New York City’s first seapunk party, and while they were out there they talked to Ben Detrick, who then profiled them and the seapunk movement for last Friday’s New York Times, marking a new level of mainstream exposure for the sub-sub-subculture.
