A reunited Urge Overkill have been spending a lot of time recently in the studio with engineer and high-kicking Tight Phantomz front man Mike Lust, and it looks like they’re ready to start showing off what they’ve accomplished. Spin interviewed Eddie “King” Roeser about the band’s reboot and the lingering effects of their unexpected Pulp Fiction-based fame. They also posted an MP3 of a new song, “Effigy.” It’s a far cry from Urge’s last studio album, 1995’s brooding, dark Exit the Dragon, and actually sounds a lot more like their raw early records than the slick stuff that they blew up on. Definitely worth a listen.
