Victory Gardens Theater will host two talks featuring political lightning rod William Ayers, in conjunction with its upcoming production of Class Dismissed. Described as “a comedy about youth and living with the consequences of how you spend it,” the new play by Evanston-bred Jeffrey Sweet is set against the backdrop of the 1960s antiwar movement, in which Ayers (formerly of the SDS, now a UIC professor) was a notorious participant. Ayers will “discuss themes of ideals and education,” according to a Victory Gardens press release. No word on whether Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity plan to show up.

The talks take place Thu 3/26 and 4/2, 6 PM, Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln, 773-871-3000, Admission is free, but reservations are required. Audience members are, naturally, encouraged to stay–and buy tickets for– the 7:30 PM performances of Class Dismissed.
