A few weeks back I blogged about Lakevlew’s Asado Coffee Company, its fresh roasted beans, and beautiful, balanced, hand dripped-to-order cups of coffee. I simply couldn’t get it out of my head, and after many visits—during which owner Kevin Ashtari made me a manual-drip convert at home—I had to write a column about his remarkable roastery and cafe. Here he walks me through a ten-pound roast of Uganda Bugisu beans, and then the preparation of single cup of coffee. Ashtari has put in an order for 50 of the porcelain Beehouse drippers he uses and will be selling them in the cafe;his beans are available wholesale as well.
