This past weekend I went to Columbus for the Scion Rock Fest, where two dozen metal bands that I mostly really like played in four different venues. (Disclosure: I was there both for pleasure and as a paid interviewer for the Scion A/V Web site.) While the single most entertaining aspect of the fest was witnessing the chaos that results when you put a hundred members of metal bands in a fairly nice hotel in Columbus, Ohio, the shows were uniformly incredible. Ben Ratliff wrote some nice words about the proceedings for the New York Times, with a concentration on Yob (who I didn’t catch) and Landmine Marathon (who were one of my must-see bands on the bill). I took about 500 variously blurry photos of the shows, a few of which are below the jump.
