The new program director at WGN radio is Kevin Metheny, a second-generation radio exec and yet another Clear Channel hire (recently ousted from its Cleveland division), most famously known as the WBNC boss dubbed Pig Virus/Pig Vomit by Howard Stern. The Plain Dealer ran a good short profile of Metheny in 2002 (scroll down to “Clear Channel programmer rules radio in Cleveland”). Writes Clint O’Connor: “Just doing his job in Cleveland has meant carrying out Clear Channel’s dirty work of slashing budgets and people, pulling the plug on longtime Cleveland voices, including Danny Wright, Scott Howitt, Denny Sanders, Bob McKay, John Webster and Ed Richards.”
