Agga B., the line of women’s clothes by local designer Agga B. Raya, has landed a coveted position on the racks of one of Chicago’s most prominent boutiques, Jake. The shop carries just a few Chicago-based lines, including clothing from dieterbennett, jewelry by Jill Alberts and Winifred Grace, and accessories made from vintage obis by Vanessa Penna.

Raya’s designs ended up being some of the most popular pieces among the nonprofessional models for our fall fashion special back in 2007–somewhat to my surprise, I must admit, because they were so avant-garde. But, as another designer noted recently, contrary to popular perception, plenty of Chicagoans embrace forward-looking fashion.
