Apparently the full-page ads that ran over the last few weeks in the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, and Daily Northwestern, featuring Northwestern University president Morty Schapiro’s name on a wrecking ball, haven’t had the desired effect: NU has begun preliminary demolition work on the interior of Bertrand Goldberg’s Prentice Women’s Hospital, and will take down the second-floor sky bridge that connects it with the Lurie Building this Saturday, June 8.
NU spokesman Alan Cubbage says exterior demolition will begin in late summer or early fall.
