A Five Star Life

In this light Italian comedy (2013), an overburdened inspector of luxury hotels grapples with, and cracks wise about, the problem of finding the right balance between life and work. Flatly told and highly familiar, this is subtler and somewhat classier than the movies of Nancy Meyers (It’s Complicated, Something’s Gotta Give), though no different in its complacency and upper-middle-class obliviousness. Maria Sole Tognazzi directed. In English and subtitled Italian.
