Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the surreal Cartoon Network series about a trio of junk-food superheroes, tends toward arch silliness more than actual humor, a formula that’s tolerable enough in 15-minute tube installments but deadly dull in this 86-minute feature. As the movie’s title might indicate, the comedy is attitude driven and hugely self-conscious; the few genuinely funny ideas (a theater snack-bar commercial that turns into a nu-metal nightmare, a Civil War-themed video game that takes forever because of the front-loading rifles) stand out like figures in bas-relief.
