Matt Dillon leads an ostensibly close-knit crew of armored truck guards collaborating on an inside job. Their simple plan turns to shit when one conspirator (Columbus Short) develops a conscience mid-heist; after that, the movie oscillates between Die Hard-inside-a-locked-truck and Die Hard-in-a-derelict-steel-plant. This unambitious caper flick takes a while to get moving but gradually develops a modest meat-and-potatoes appeal, compromised in the third act by a whopping and perfectly avoidable plot hole. Make what you will of the fact that the good guy is an Iraq war vet and his straight-arrow superior (Fred Ward) is named Ashcroft. Nimrod Antal (Kontroll) directed; with Laurence Fishburne, Jean Reno, and Skeet Ulrich. PG-13, 88 min.
